Nice to meet you! I'm Kati and I work with art and technology, creating installations and objects. Technology in this case includes, not only electronics and code, but also mechanical apparatuses, textile algorithms and re-purposed objects. Exploration of tangible materials and reflection through making are central to my practice. I also aim to offer spaces, where people feel welcome in taking part in art and using technology as an expressive medium, beyond consumption.
I often work together with my partner Niklas Roy. Many of our interactive installations and participatory projects include playful encounters with people at public places. We also give courses and workshops, which open up themes and material worlds through hands-on experimentation. In the spirit of open source, most of the project documentation on this website is licensed under CC BY, unless otherwise stated.
For about ten years I live in Berlin, spending also some time in Finland, where I grew up. In my free time I like to keep curious and wander aimlessly in forests, checking out fungi.
